The International Journal of Business and Technical Education (IJBTE) is committed to maintaining the highest ethical standards in scholarly publishing. All parties involved in the publication process—editors, authors, reviewers, and readers—are expected to adhere to ethical behavior and integrity as outlined below:

1. Editorial Responsibilities

  • Ensure fair, transparent, and timely peer review of all submissions.

  • Evaluate manuscripts solely on academic merit, without discrimination based on race, gender, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political philosophy.

  • Maintain confidentiality of submitted manuscripts and the identity of reviewers and authors during the peer-review process.

  • Take appropriate action in case of ethical complaints, including but not limited to plagiarism, data falsification, or conflict of interest.

2. Author Responsibilities

  • Authors must submit only original and unpublished work that has not been submitted elsewhere.

  • All sources must be properly cited and referenced using the journal’s preferred citation style.

  • Authors must avoid all forms of plagiarism, including self-plagiarism.

  • Authorship should be limited to those who have made significant contributions to the research.

  • All authors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest.

  • Authors are responsible for obtaining ethical clearance (if required) and for adhering to research standards involving human participants or data.

3. Reviewer Responsibilities

  • Reviewers must evaluate manuscripts objectively and constructively, maintaining confidentiality throughout the process.

  • Reviewers should not use any part of the manuscript content for personal advantage.

  • Reviewers must disclose any conflicts of interest and recuse themselves from reviewing where appropriate.

  • Timely feedback must be provided to assist editorial decisions.

4. Plagiarism and Misconduct

  • IJBTE uses plagiarism detection tools (e.g., Turnitin) to screen all submitted manuscripts.

  • Any form of academic dishonesty—fabrication, falsification, plagiarism, or duplicate publication—will result in immediate rejection and potential blacklisting.

  • In cases of proven misconduct after publication, retractions, corrections, or expressions of concern will be issued.

5. Data Transparency and Reproducibility

  • Authors should retain raw data related to their research for a reasonable time after publication and be prepared to provide access upon request.

  • If applicable, datasets and software used in the research should be referenced and, where possible, made publicly available.

6. Corrections and Retractions

  • IJBTE allows for post-publication corrections, retractions, or expressions of concern in line with COPE guidelines.

  • Authors or readers who identify significant errors should promptly contact the editorial team.

By submitting to IJBTE, all authors confirm adherence to the above publication ethics. The journal aligns with the principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and upholds transparency, accountability, and scholarly integrity.
